Pluto responds

Got this from here......
ROTFLMAO!

Pluto responds: 'Planets have feelings, What did I do to deserve this?'

There I was, minding my own business, orbiting the Sun just like all the others. I got my little bit of atmosphere going, got a lot of ice. I was cool. I stayed out of everybody else's way, sometimes way out.

Then some eggheads on that uppity third rock -- they think they're so hot because they have "life" -- went and decided I'm not a planet anymore. What's up with that? My life is hard enough as it is.

First of all, it takes forever for me to do a lap around the Sun, and it gets really lonely out here. They tell me that part of the reason I'm not a planet anymore is that some of the time I sneak inside my buddy Neptune's orbit. What do they expect? I need somebody to talk to out here sometimes. And don't get me started about that mass of junk they call Charon that is supposedly my partner in non-planethood; Charon is dead to me.

Then there's my name. Let me say I was happy enough without anyone else giving me a name. For millions of years, maybe even billions -- time sort of has no meaning out here -- I liked to think of myself as Lex, except for a very brief period of experimentation and confusion when I thought I was Sophia. But that's a long story, and Uranus promised never to talk about it.

Anyway, Lex was short, snappy and just tough-sounding enough to keep unwanted visitors away. I felt like a growling dog with that name, not that I had any idea what a dog was then. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

So then those numbskulls on Earth finally figure out I'm here, and start calling me Pluto. I had mixed feelings; I liked Lex, but I also heard through the microwaves passing by that Pluto was a god of "Death" over there. I barely knew what "life" was, but I knew Death kicked life's butt all year long (and the years are really long here).

But I nearly fell out of my orbit when I found out a pet dog -- not even a real dog but a cartoon dog -- gets to be called Pluto on their planet. Suddenly Pluto was something cute and cuddly and not tough or threatening at all.

It's bad enough when you're the smallest guy on the playground. With the cartoon dog thing, everyone was making fun of me, even Uranus. I was humiliated. Planets have feelings, too, you know.

So you can imagine how I'm taking this planet thing. Neptune, which used to hang out with me to try to look cool by association, won't even talk to me anymore. I can't take it. The Solar System is the only family I've got.

So for all you Earthlings reading this, I, Pluto, am taking a stand. I'm here. I'm a sphere. Get used to it.

As told to Sun reporter Gady A. Epstein

Tag to Fellowship and anyone else interested...

Makki...

Yesterday went to Makki...a place near Ponmudi. Its not classified as a tourist spot, so there were no one else but us.
7 of us clambered on to Unni's Omni by afternoon and went there.
Anand had gone there a while back with his family. Even he had only the faintest idea. According to him, the area is a total forest. Oddly, there was'nt much of forestry. Lot of concrete houses till the last.
Some forest! Was the dude on dope? :P

Me and Sreenath were cramped on the rear seat of Omni (The two seats in the behind...)
Thampi got his new name as well...Stone Man...or rather Stone Cold! :P No...not going to elaborate...he would kill me!

In the classical way of going we went there by asking a dozen people on the way...Thankfully, all of them lead us to the right path...
We were asking for the Makki temple...people would think we going to do some crazy stuff if we asked the place where we could lounge in the water...
A nice excuse...but not valid in the afternoon time when Gods are usually put to sleep! :D

Anyway, the last two guys knew our intentions and told us the way to the waters...
After a very nasty ride through a kacha road, we reached the place...A walk of 200m through the forest took us to the place we wanted to go...the waters...
An artifical blockade is created here to make it a bath worthy waters...
Unfortunately, water level was pretty low when we came. It came to our necks in a sitting position...I was not very worried...No chance of drowning! Especially when you don't know how to swim and is a dead weight!

Started our procedure...stripped down to bare minimums and jumped to water...Played around a lot...Hafeez played Tarzan for a while with a hanging wine, until me and Anand tried our strength on it and needless to say we won! (err...the wine broke :P)

Some funny moments like Hafeez trying to swim on a kneep deep water, Hafeez trying to jump on Anand and falling flat on his nose in the water and me falling flat trying to climb down from a rock...
Got some sticks and some adivasi photos were taken...
Sreenath had brought two packets of Kurkure which finished in no time...All of us had skipped lunch and being in water makes one hungry...

Then we started building a dam using our bodies...disrupting water flow and delighted ourselves with controlling the flow of water.
Idea struck then...we build our own small check dam using rocks and water flow was modified...till the next rain that is...:D

It was agreed that next time, we come in the morning...with food and booze...party...sleep...go back in the evening...but next time? *sigh*
By the way, to get good food, you will have to go to Vithura...

As we left, me, Sree and Anand visited the Makki temple...More like a Kaavu...a small platform in which three dieties...Shiva (I think so...it looked remarkably like Buddha), Ganapathy and Naagar.

We stopped at Vithura and had tea. Saw our old college canteen Manager.
Reached home by 8...

Another trip...when?where?who all?
Only time will tell...

The photos...
Due to our Mascular appearance and Anand's pathetic body...I decided not to post any body showing photos...Might hurt his feelings! :P

Return of the Jedi (Revenge of the Sith?)

My friend Shyam had called me asked whether we could go to our school. To meet our teachers before we ended up getting on jobs with no real hope of free time. He had to leave for his company next week and probably today was the only available day for him. I agreed and another friend Rakesh also agreed to come. I skipped my Lab hours and Shyam picked me up from class. His mother was driving and she dropped us at LIC. We walked to the school and waited for Rakesh.
Sensing he would be late, we decided to get some drinks and went to the cool bar. Have not been here in a long time.
Finally went up the school. Profound changes to say the least. Most of the old buildings were demolished.
Earlier on the classes used to in different blocks, spread across the campus. Now its one huge building where all classes are held.
Saw the old Guard. He said he knew us but we had to permission to meet teachers during class time and told us to get it from the Principal. He was very good natured as he always was. No change there!
Now the hardest part.
Our Principal is the strongest lady I have met in my life. I still get shivers thinking of being in her room. Ominous...and her cold stare...the mere presence of her ensured a sense of discipline in the students. Though, she lacked in several areas, she was a good Principal.
Unfortunately, she has been bedridden due to some medical issues. It is said she cannot even sit up. A really hard thing, when you consider she is probably in the later part of her middle years. Now its her second daughter in charge. She is considered to be a she-devil.
We had to wait for a while and saw that the PA was still there. A new lady PA too...
The office is changed. The old Yoga Mandir gone. The class block converted to Principal's office...Hmmm...it used to be here a long long time back...But still the old one was better...I could vision Principal standing on the doorstep and glancing at the school from atop. Like Queen looking at her subjects...

Anyway...we met a couple of teachers...they recognised us and were quite happy to see us. We went in to meet the Principal. She seemed out of place. A pretty big shoes to fill I guess. Got our pass and we were good to go!
Our +2 classes had been converted to lab exclusive building. Memories of dreaded, hazy, desperate years came to me. How much have I changed from then? Probably a lot...
The Bharathamatha statue is still there. The ground is smaller now. The huge block stared at us.

We didn't know where to start at first. Roamed around and decided to go to the +2 section. Probably they would remember us!
As we climbed the stairs, the bell rang for the short interval. For the first time in so many years, I heard the stampede! kids running out of the class on to the ground or to the loo. Was really, really happy to hear that...These are sounds you don't expect to hear in your life again!

Saw the teachers...many of them...some where reluctant to speak until we showed the pass. I guess many of them are scared and resentment is there against the new rules.
Saw some dance practice going on in the new auditorium...That is pretty cool...I meant the auditorium, not the girls who were dancing! :D
Saw my cousin sitting in the class. Hmmm...these kids are too quite!

The building is a pain in the ass to navigate...after seeing a lot of teachers...those who taught us in 1st to 12th...we were thoroughly confused where to go and where we would end up...finally we got into a faniliar territory after passing through a pretty cool iron bridge connecting the buildings...our old 3rd standard! Seemed to be very much olden days...
We used to stare down from the 3rd floor on to the ground...the milma van would be parked...we would have no money...all of us would imagine having an invisible straw with which we would suck up all the icecream and drink. :)

Met our old PT sir as well. He has been here for long now...

Went to the library to see the library staff (we call them teachers). One of them was my aayah in the kindergarten and knows me very well. Our 12th standard class teacher was also there. They were telling how good we people are as we try to come atleast once in a blue moon. The new gen gives a damn and has very little attachment to the school.
I was pained to learn that a big shot guy who got the first rank in entrance didn't visit the lower class teachers or the library staff when he visited the school to get his felicitation. I think he is a total Arya product. Never forget your roots...

Our teacher was reminiscing our class days...
According to her "I don't know whether you people learned chemistry. But I certainly learned malayalam!"
We were a band of rapscallions...total anarchists...the worst class in the history...
The problem...a total guy class.
Another one...all the 'elements' in the same class (Me not included! :P)
Though she hated our guts and our attitude...we actually had a good relationship...
Imagine a boys class winning trophy for cleanliness...We sweeped in the breaks...we cleaned the fans...put up stuff on the walls...
Won it straight for several weeks...

She ended by saying that though we were bad...we were good...todays kids are plain mechanical...no material...no substance...just the drive for entrance...nothing else...

So you can relate to the Return of the Jedi part in the titel. Then, why revenge of the Sith???
:D
Arya had a strange co-ed system...different stairs for guys and girls...we hated it then...I hate it now...In the new building there is a new ramp build exclusively for girls. Its cool to walk there...but totally unnecessary...I decided that for once I am going to walk there with head held up high (used to sneak and enter through the ladyway when we were still there!) Break the rule in plain sight...I got the excuse that i didn't know about it.
Syam was very reluctant. The same old goodie two shoes. I virtually dragged him to the ramp. Rakesh was busy on his phone and so he had no clue and simply followed me. Syam was shaking I guess. Some of the girls were staring at us with some fright I guess. Some new teachers staring at us dissaprovingly, but none of them dared to question.
Finally, the Sith had his revenge! :P

The little mermaid :P

You Are a Mermaid

You are a total daydreamer, and people tend to think you're flakier than you actually are.
While your head is often in the clouds, you'll always come back to earth to help someone in need.
Beyond being a caring person, you are also very intelligent and rational.
You understand the connections of the universe better than almost anyone else.

Beach Boys

As usual I was wasting my time away in the evening. Getting ready to watch WWE and catch some sleep. Then my friends came home and asked whether I wanted to come to Karikkakam Temple. A trip to beach afterwards was also in the offing. I accepted gladly. Any change from the regular routine is always welcome.
So the four of us started out. First to the temple. Its fairly big one and I love it.
Lot of trees...Lot of sand to play with...(Some of the temple officials were staring rather crossly at me while I was idly playing with sand...so had to cut that out! Boooo!)
The nearby Naagar kaavu (Temple of the godly snakes) had a great atmosphere.
Then we went to the beach. The beach road is fabulous thanks to Punj Lloyd. Strolled around the beach which was a little busy as usual. None of us felt any urge to play with water. Then had a tea and snacks.

Memories flooded back to me...some bleak...some powerful...
I have come to the beach just a couple of times (or was it once?) with my parents when I was a kid. Always wanted to...But Dad and Mom being busy meant outings were very scarce.
But my trips otherwise were frequent with my cousin, uncle and aunt. But I don't think there is any speciality associated with those visits. May be climbing the Star Fish Hotel (a few paces...no more than that..I was an obedient kid and was scared!) or the cycle park comes to mind now.

In college it was different. Been here a few times with friends. Almost all visits have some speciality on its own. I think I would post those visits, non beach stuff we did...both crazy and sane over a period of time...

In other news, I got my first job...Very happy at that...Now waiting for the offer letter to come to my inbox. Looong wait...won't come atleast till 10 tomorrow morning! :D

ciao for now people
