...when we as a nation was shamed by a bunch of mindless drones. Same time last year, all of us were glued with horror to our television sets watching the reality show with the highest stakes ever: human lives and dignity of a nation. How different is our country after that gruesome incident? How protected are we from future attacks? Before we launch into a tirade on the ineffectiveness of our Government, read this informative article by Nita. We can without any doubt say that the level of preparedness is higher than what it used to be. But will this prevent future attacks? Where there is a will there is a way. Its the innate human nature to resist against the defenses and find chinks in them. With a certain amount of preparation and lot of money, terrorists can stage such an attack anywhere in India. I doubt that even Mumbai could be an exception with all its alertness. This is in no way degrading our intelligence wings. Unknown to us, they may be thwarting several plots as we speak...

The Indian blog world is in flames over Barkha Dutt (NDTV journo) suing a blogger named Chyetanya Kunte regarding certain comments he made in a post regarding the 26/11 coverage. Basically he called her an idiot and said the coverage endangered lives. The post is gone, but you can read it from Google's cache . Scroll down for the post. (offtopic: Internet is lot like Las Vegas; what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!) Kunte succumbed to the pressure  and made a very legal looking withdrawal of statement post . Bloggers have been calling for Dutt's head and to be frank rightfully so! The fourth estate or so called custodians of Democracy is unwilling to bear with criticism? Just head over to the Facebook discussion where Barkha threatens another person. Immature, and a total one at that. Barkha has every right to defend against the allegations. She could have explained her position or if its not worth her time she could have just ignored it! Instead she went for a lawsuit to shut...

It was a week in which nothing made sense. Bloodshed, mayhem, 24x7 news coverage...Probably only thing expected was the political mud slinging. But beyond the human factor, this incident did not make sense from a geo-political perspective. Pakistan Government or even the ISI would have to be out of their minds to plan such an attack. Attack in the sense, not the scale but the targets. There have been numerous attacks on Indian soil. Some fronted by home grown terror outfits others by radical organisations outside India. First of all, we can discount the following allegations: Sangh parivar perpetrated the whole thing. (Load of crap!) Israel did it! (Like they have nothing else to do!) America did it! (Duh!) What all the current evidences and previous experiences suggest is that the operation was carried out by Lashkar with/without the help of Al Queda. We can also deduce from our experiences that the ISI had some hand or the other in this operation. What was their motivation apart from...

Saw this comic in the Dry Bones Blog . Poignant and hits the point. Terrorists try to localise terror as much as possible. If they get the support of at least one local, then they win and we lose. What can we do to counter such naive but dirty tactics? I would replace Islamism in the comic with Islamic Terrorism. Both are radically different things.
