What a Day!

Wanted to do something substantial in project today...So bunked class though I am running short of attendance...Necks will be slit if I go under attendance!(So teachers beware!)...Moreover didnt want to miss the final days of college...But circumstances made me bunk.(Iam innocent!)
All started around 12 at night...A throbing head and a sleepy eyes made me want to go sleep though I had two assignments to finish. A friend tried to keep me online but she did not see me drooping away every two minutes :-)). Anyway decided to go to sleep at 12 and wake up at 1:15.
Woke up! Throbbing head again and no one online :-( Started writing. Had no idea what I was doing and probably the second assignment is all shit. Finished up around 3 and went to bed. Wake up at 6:30 and a dash to Hary's place to give the assignments.
Woozy again. So had a tea from outside and then another after coming home. Had a breakfast and watched TV for a while...At 9:15 started sleeping again...interrupted by mom at 10:15 when she and Father were leaving. Changed my sleeping position to downstairs bedroom and slept blissfully till 12:30! So much for project:P
Then had lunch...went outside to take a walk and clear my head. Bad move! Too hot and became exhausted...Came back started doing project...well started...then error galore...some library files misssing...searched frantically...no avail...Started playing Morrowind (an excellent RPG) and Anand came. We did the UML diagrams for a while till evening. He left at 4 and me back to bed again...woke up at 5:30 when Mom came back. Lazed around...chatted with a friend on phone...played some loud music...and voila! brain wave at 9:30! Decided to correct my user problems in XP and I crashed the bloody thing. XP wont boot! To make matters worse I had removed Ubuntu Linux and installed SUSE linux in a bad way. So no Linux as well.Tried Ubuntu live and install CD's to get my PC up again and after several 100 tries (10 to be exact:P) Free CD's meant bad CD's I guess!
And now running on Ubuntu Live...what a beautiful day!
Song recommendation: Nancy Sinatra:These boots are meant for walking...

Job (Un)Fair!

The Hindu Job Fair...
10000 Jobs in offing!!!
Freshers and Experienced candidates gets equal opportunities!!!
COME GET SOME!

And I applied for it. Without much hope I should add. I would have been hoping against hope to be hoping for something. Too much hope in that sentence? :P
"Whats wrong dude?" May be your question...
Apparently this dude has a GPA of "fivepointsomething" (I am not shameless enough to post my percentage:P)
Lots of achievements (in Extra curricular)
Some cool projects under construction (More on that later:P)

And the rejection comes at first point itself...So I haven't written any tests yet!
So when hall ticket came from an R&D tech company I rejoiced. Atleast I could write a test. A BPO hall ticket had come earlier though.

And I dressed up in the morning. Took my Father's shirt. The only ironed one left in the house that fits me:P
Left to take printouts of hall tickets and joined friends in the looooong queue.
Chain poloism, waving at old buddies etc. while waiting...

And we entered the hall.
CTS invited us in with a two storey, cool stall. We got the wind from Ganu about stuff here.
My company said "We are looking for experienced candidates." Java.2+years were the keywords...And almost all other companies except Verizon was like that. And freshers came from all over Kerala just to hear this.
Hafeez wrote the test for Verizon and entered interview. It is still not deciphered whether he got selected or not...
"The Hindu" sucks! They needed some ad money and so such mockery. No wonder I read "Indian Express"!

And...(too many "And" starts? ) we went to deduct 12 minutes from our life. I didn't want to. But still the lure was on and I wanted to do something then. Then I got back home had a good lunch with Chicken Biriyani and slept off.

Positives: Well, I did hang out with my old friend. That was quite good.

And (again! *sigh) it was a decent day in terms of "ornithology" :-D

Just finished watching the Corpse Bride, a stop motion animation movie which won at this years Oscars.
I had downloaded this movie earlier this week and forgotten about it. Found time to watch it today as I had nothing else to do! No material to study for tomorrows Multimedia exam :P...
Anyway into the movie...

FIrst about Stop Motion Animation...(from Wikipedia)

Stop motion is an animation technique which makes static objects appear to move. It is central to the clay animation technique used on popular children's shows such as Gumby and to the puppet-based animation of such well-known films as (Tim Burton's) The Nightmare Before Christmas (Henry Selick, 1993), Chicken Run (DreamWorks/Aardman Animations, 2000) Corpse Bride (Tim Burton, 2005), and all of the Wallace And Gromit films.
Stop motion requires a camera, either motion picture or digital, that can expose single frames. It works by shooting a single frame, stopping the camera to move the object a little bit, and then shooting another frame. When the film runs continuously at 24 frames per second, the illusion of fluid motion is created and the objects appear to move by themselves. This is similar to the animation of cartoons, but with real objects instead of drawings.

Now on to the movie...
It is directed by Tim Burton and Mike Johnson, it stars Johnny Depp as the voice of Victor and Helena Bonham Carter as the voice of the Corpse Bride. This is the first animated film in which Johnny Depp has been a voice actor.
The story is set in gloomy victorian style village with some snobbish touch. Victor is the son of a rich fishmonger who is about to be married of to a Lord's daughter named Victoria. The Lord is bankrupt and marrying her of so that he and his snob wife doesn't end up in a poorhouse. Of course, the two are'nt interested in marriage and they fell in love after meeting each other. There is rehearsal of wedding and Victor manages to screw up his words so that the Pastuer drives him away. At the same time a mysterious Lord Barkis comes as a guest to the Lords House.
VIctor goes around practicing his vows and when he manages to say it well he puts the ring on to hand a like branch which is actually the hand of a dead woman. She thinks he has married her and takes him along with her (he is outcold now!) to the land of the dead.
The movie is about how love exists beyond grave (literally!) and how true love succeeds. I am not giving thre entire story here. Watch it!
The animation is really good and the story is excellent. Dialogues are funny and there is a fair share of situational comedies. But the most amazing thing was the music. It is simply amazing. One of the highlights is the piano play by both Victor and Emily. Though a short one it is still very sweet.
The latest animation entrant into my favourite movies section. Believe me animations rule the roost there!

Look around you...

When I Asked God for Strength
He Gave Me Difficult Situations to Face

When I Asked God for Brain & Brawn
He Gave Me Puzzles in Life to Solve

When I Asked God for Happiness
He Showed Me Some Unhappy People

When I Asked God for Wealth
He Showed Me How to Work Hard

When I Asked God for Favors
He Showed Me Opportunities to Work Hard

When I Asked God for Peace
He Showed Me How to Help Others

God Gave Me Nothing I Wanted
He Gave Me Everything I Needed

- Swami Vivekananda

Something I found in A+Forwards
Found it so meaningful...
Every saying has so much truth in it...
Made me realise I have what I want...had everything I wanted...will have everything I want...
I just need to look around me and open my eyes...
What to write?
Its still a dark night...
Not just outside
My heart from inside...

Dazed and Confused through my feelings
Want to be liberated from these dealings...
Thought I would do some post
But the mind wants none to host...

Withering myself to an agonising end
Oh I am so hell bent...
Like a rider in the storm
To burnt out or roam...

There is no paradise in sight
There is no great white light...
To save me from drowning
In my own self done downing...

A flicker of hope do remain
Driving me on to regain...
The lost paradise that I wanted
Imagine the time when I get landed...

Chinese Democracy

The most expensive album ever! Not another political post by me :P
Chinese Democracy (CD) is the long time due album by Guns N Roses (Axl Rose and his cronies rather than the good old Guns).
Work started in 1994 and still is going on...12 years in the making...14 million dollars pumped in...But the album will definitely come out this year. I got some demo songs from torrent land, 7 to be exact. Good quality and not bootlegs. Most seems finished and though not too polished. I don't know whether it is a consious decision to make it raw.

So hows it?
Guns without the guitar work of Slash, drums of Matt Sorum/ Steven Adler, bass of Duff and rhythm guitar of Izzy.Only Dizzy Reed, the keyboardist, remains from the original group along with Axl Rose.
Not too bad I must say. I was a bit prejudiced when I listened to it. I got this about a month back and only now I am giving a serious thought on listening through without much interference. Still not the Guns I love...little too industrial but I like it much better than Velvet Revolver's Contraband. (VR is the remaining members of Guns except Izzy + Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots) I did not like it much and there was no vintage Slash guitar in it.

Lets go through the songs...
IRS: I liked this one. A sweet opening. I think it was flute or keyboard but may be a guitar stuff. A very small one, about 5 seconds. Kicks of into a industrial influenced hard rock song . Quite good. A guitar solo by Finck is sweet and one by Buckethead is quite good.

Wouldnt be the first time I've been wrong
Wouldnt be the last I'm sure I've known
All the rumours I can tell,
Some things didn't work so well

Better:
An unfinished demo track. Quite good but still industrial and very queer opening.

The hardest part this troubled heart has never yet been through now
To heal the scars that got their start inside someone like you now
But had I known or I'd been shown back when I'd long you'd take me
To break the the charge that brought me home...
and all that won't erase me

Chinese Democracy: Industrial. Catchy opening. But I didnt much like it. But a good guitar solo. Still not typical Slash solo. Lyrics...I didn't bother to look in deep but still I didn't like it.

If they where missionaires
Real time visionaires
Sitting in a chinese school
To view my dis-in-fat-uation
I know that I'm a classic case
Watch my disenchanted face
Blame it on the Falun Gong
They've seen the end and you can't hold on.

There was a time: Another strange and mystey movie like opening. A pretty good song with a very good guitar work. (No lyrics was available for this song :P)

Madagaskar: A live version of the song actually. So it may sound very different on the record. I think I like it. Little less industrial and more rock. Little slow as well. The best lyrics according to me.
I like drums as well. A good bass-rhythm guitar work in the middle as well.

So many times that I've seen life before me
I searched and found the way to choose to the end
I found a way, to know, why it had to be
Mired in denial and saw all the rain

The Blues: A Guns like opening with a good keyboard work. Opens into a rhythm-lead combo followed by vocals. A slow ballad like song. Quite good but this is no great ballad songs of the calibre of Sweet Child, Patience, November Rain, Estranged etc...
Very good guitar solo in the middle. And some funky keyboard as well.

All the love in the world couldn't save you
All the innocence inside
You know I tried so hard to make you
To make you change your mind

Oh My God: I didnt like this. 'nuff said!

Oh my god
I can't deny this
I've been taught just to kill and fight this
To bury it deeper where nobody can find it
Like nobody wanted to know

All in all. A good album I think. Much much better than the atrocious Spaghetti Incident and better than Contraband. Waiting for the release? Yes sir, I am!

Comrades! Its time to kick some (old) whooped ass!

Lots of stuff happening in Kerala today, the Marxist strongman and opposition leader VS Achuthanandan has been kicked on the butt.
"No seat for you", says the Marxist bourgeois. The man who kept the Party in the limelight for the past five years is being rejected. I say "the Party" because there is only a "the Party" in Kerala , CPI (M), complete with the brackets!

No, I am not a Marxist or a Communist. Though the cadre around our place believes I am one! And that is a good thing because I live in a party stronghold. The misconception would be probably because I wear a Che Gueverra tees and usually stays away from my father's political escapades. (Not due to any disagreement, though I don't agree with him in many cases, but due to embarrassment! :P)
In short words, I am a saffron dude who believes in corporate and cooperates and FDI but against communalism.
Against communalism and saffron? Lets say I am for universal civil code and against pseudo secularism. That justifies my right libertarian pro saffron stand.
Enough blah about me.

What did VS do to get rejected? Not because he is antidevelopmental and all. (He is antidevelopmental. No question about that.) Because he is against a crop of Mafias in the party. Sand, Sandal and Sex Mafias. Obviously marxists have learnt to trade and the comrades up the ladder wants some booty. VS would probably stand against that.

But lets rewind. What about VS himself engineering the ouster of many from the party. MV Raghavan, Gowri Amma, C Kannan,O Bharathan, Angelos...the list moves on...
And now the question is: :"What does rejection feels like?"
But the repurcussions may force a mediation from the Polit Bureau and VS may be back. But I hope he does not and I hope the Marxists lose!

First I had given Insult Monger link which I felt was too offensive. So this is page published in my oen google pages.

Disclaimer: A total figment of my imagination (What did ya think punk?) So don't come running behind if you are anti commie. Then I should be running behind myself...Now that would be theosophical question. Frantic, anybody?
No, this is not going to be a post on Maths. For those ignorant, it is unit in Class XII Mathematics. A section I am eternally grateful for. It made me pass my Class XII Math.
So far so blah. On to our subject matter.
Today morning I was watching CNN-IBN (which has incidentally become my favourite news channel replacing Headlines Today (too many ads HT, boo!))There was this piece on their Morning Show, about regression therapy.

Its about solving your current problems by looking at your previous life or from your childhood. Many people don't believe in afterlife and reincarnation but this one seems to be proven by the therapists. A doctor has released a book in which the previous lives of many celebrities are given. I forgot the details but if my memory serves right Amithabh Bacchan was an actor in the Shakespeare's Theatre, Sharukh Khan was a female bengali dancer, Benazir Bhutto was Jawaharlal Nehru who was Bahadur Shah Zafar and so on. Here is the link to the article on IBN live.

This is not the first time I am hearing about this. Some 8 years back my Father fell very ill. He was taken to a holistic treatment centre where the Doctor was a semi crack pot. He is dead so God bless his soul. He did so many treatments which did not help my Father much. One of it was regression therapy.
The doctor discovered that my Father used to be a bandit in Punjab! My mother and me would have had a field day teasing him if he was'nt that ill. Anyway, the cynical self of him made him move out of the treatment. (The treatment worked on 90% of the people, my Father was unfortunately in the 10% who wants instant gratification. He jumps into so many things enthusiastically and then loses interest and sometimes money.)

I liked the attitude of the doctors on the TV show. They said many of their clients did'nt believe in previous life but it certainly helped them recover. They just think of it as an illusion. But as long as it helps them the doctors would have no qualms about it.

How do they find the previous life? By hypnotising the person and getting clues from it. But the celebrity lives were found in a different manner. By using a clairvoyant medium. I know it sounds far fetched but sometimes somethings seem farfetched. The people through their lives are said to have the same facial structure. Only the structure and features not the face as such. Also the mental beliefs and the qualities. The characteristics of a personality like his field of choice remains the same.

Do I believe in it? I am a spiritual person and I do believe in rebirth. Just thought I would research into some of the people I believe may be me! :P
I have no field set as of yet so I can field as many as I want! :-D

Correlate my regressions in the next post!
You Are Mint Green

Balanced and calm, you have mastered the philosophy of living well.
Your friends seek you out for support, and you are able to bring stability to chaotic situations.
You're very open and cheerful - and you feel like you have a lot of freedom in life.
Your future may hold any number of exciting things, and you're ready for all of them!

Well...I was very upset then. But now thinking, talking, chatting has helped a lot. Even the university results seem to be rather tame now. The self belief and the confidence is back. Bt
But a friend seems to think I am a big fool knowing nothing about life and pretending to be a know it all. Well dude. I give a fuck! And God bless you!
I am not like you think man. I know the pitfalls, I know the people and I know the system. I am flexible enough to cope the different surroundings. This comes as a result of being screwed multiple times. Not the big screws...the tiny ones seems to be enough.
I thought of posting the entire conversation but I dont him to feel bad (My friends would know him instantly and he is a very nice guy) He was trying to play sadistic jokes on me. Well I forgive. I am still chatting to him as I write this.

Oh well enough ranting about nothing. I thank all the people who have supported me through this...friends, blogger buddies, chatfriends, family etc. I think its been a long while since I found myself so dejected and it feels good when I am back to my self again.

And I am telling the results part by part at home. Zor ka chatka dheere se lage! ;-)

Running Blind...

Can't find the answers
I've been crawling on my knees
Looking for anything
To keep me from drowning
Promises have been turned to lies
Can't even be honest inside
Now I'm running backward
Watching my life wave me goodbye

Running blind
I'm running blind
Somebody help me see I'm running blind

Searching for nothing
Wondering if I'll change
I'm trying everything
But everything still stays the same
I thought if I showed you I could fly
Wouldn't need anyone by my side
Now I'm running backward
With broken wings I know I'll die

Running blind
I'm running blind
Somebody help me see I'm running blind

Song by Godsmack

Am I desp?
I will be lying if I said no...
I don't care about myself...but wondering what's in store for the two poor souls who trust and believe me fanatically.
Was IRMA a last straw?
Probably yes...For a smoother road to life it was my last shot.
I could sense this coming...just had that wind of rejection hitting me today which left me morose through the day.
Not much to say now.
The beliefs I had instilled myself with are now shaken from their foundations. When you build a big palace and the foundation starts sinking everything turns to rubbles.
Bracing my self for cleaning up those rubbles.
