Reunion...

The second school reunion was yesterday...Arya Central School...hailed and booed by all alike...Home for me for 14 years...Well I was rather sceptical about the reunion first...
Then on I thought I would go and see some people I probably would'nt see in my life again.
The first one was rather good lots of people came. I wouldn't say I had a lot of fun but still it was cool to see everybody...
But this time turnout wasn't that good. Only 41...And Bleak being the organiser lost his own money...

Was it any good?
Well..my feelings were pretty much the same as the last time...Good to see old friends...Not any emotionally overwhelming feelings...
After pleasantaries we were all ganging up into gangs and in our own chats...Sangeeta, Nitya and a few girls had the sense to come over and break ice...or rather the break the Aryan tradition of stay away from the other kind...
These gangs made me realise something...
I was welcome in all groups...But didn't really belong anywhere...
I started thinking of the college reunion...after a while will I still be the Outsider?
Reached my cousin's home and slept off the feelings...
No use thinking about myriad things and getting depressed...

I don't think such a scenario would come unless I am alone and none of my good friends are there...I am more emotionally involved with my college mates rather than school mates...
In school during the last two years, I had a hard time coping with my emotional issues and so friends were rather scant...
Only time can tell what is in store...

Sigh!

Why is the beer bottle so slender? I think its a deconstruction of the fact that you get a pot belly after a few beers over a period of time. Ah well, I should be taking a few sit ups! Ciao. P.S: I should be remembering the following cartoon before I start a fight with someone. Ciao again. (toon courtesy: xkcd )

Scholarship!

Found this is Friday Five and liked it. 1. If you were to have a scholarship created in your honor, what qualities would you look for in applicants (leadership, service, GPA, etc.)? GPA is bullshit. People with high GPA can be both muggers and geniuses. There can be people with no real "definitive talent" having a high GPA. Also, some can be flatout arses with no regard for the society. I would never create a scholarship in terms of GPA. Service is paramount. IQ and EQ both are equally important. Abstract thought counts. Creativity would be a defining factor. Enthusiasm is a must. There will be personal interviews. 2. Who would be eligible to apply for your scholarship (members of a certain major, ethnic group, sexuality, etc.)? No discrimination except there would be a weightage given to economically disadvantaged. Their need would be greater than that of a well to do kid. 3. Would it be need-based or not? Why? Need-based is contentious. Whose need? Some may need the money ...
