One word meme

I want to blog today. Numerological reasons. Too crazy to reveal. Yeah, I know my blog title and all, but that would require a lengthy explanation. Later people. I got the tag from here.

Purple Haze

The nicest guy in this world, Pappu, was gracious enough to bless us fellow roomies with a visit. He just came from a sabbatical in North India and looked visibly tired. Should eat your vegetables man! You look pale! I don't know how you are going to manage without us in Canada. We, especially me, would be glad to take care of you. After all you are our Pappu. No, you going to Canada doesn't make a change. Eventhough I have abused (in a strictly non-sexual way!) you, it was all out of my love (again, strictly stoic!) for you man. You rock!

Arrival of Pappu heralded a new dawn of 'spirits' in us. We kept on racking our brains for a place perfect for Pappu and in the end had to stick with our old and faithful place.

Purple haze all around us...

The next day Garfield wakes up. Pulls the blanket over his head with the little paws to keep the noon sun out of his eyes. He hears Neo talking. "Who the fuck poured water from the stairs at night? When I shouted. He just ran away. I was a little drunk, but I suspect it was not just water!"

Garfield comes downstairs and categorically denies the charges, "Dude. I was knocked out after I threw up. The cleaning part sapped everything away from me!" Neo looks suspiciously at Garfield.

JC comes downstairs and announces, "When I woke up this morning, I was not wearing my Lungi.

Bengal boy in traditional lungiThis is a Lungi.
Image via Wikipedia

"Thats nothing new!", Hogan says dismissively.

"No man. Its not like that. My pants are safely hung next to my lungi. So I was wearing nothing when I came to sleep.", said JC sheepishly.

Hogan is visibly grossed by the thought that he just spent a night in the same bed with a stark naked guy.

Suddenly the previous night's jigsaw pieced itself together.

The boys come home totally inebriated. JC throws up in the porch. Neo cleans up. JC and Garfield go out. They roam the roads hailing insults at the drivers. They sit on the divider and talk. Then they stands on the divider and shout some more. Neo out of his good will and a lower level of spirit comes to fetch the two brats. Garfield tries to rip off Neo's lungi and run utterly failing in the attempt. Finally they get home.

Garfield plays Maiden at the highest volume. Neo turns it down making the kitty mad. Kitty jumps and runs to cough up some furballs. Kitty down. Neo and Pappu spend their time talking. JC gets up. Goes up. Removes his pants. Admires himself in the mirror. Suddenly hears the call of nature. He is dreaming that he is on top of a hill. Walks to find a conceited spot to pee. Lets himself go. He hears the growl of a wild animal. JC is scared. He runs and crawls into his tent. Only to wake up in the morning in a temperate room in Bangalore stark naked and wondering what happened.

Is it tomorrow, or just the end of time?

Tequilla Sunrise

I have done several music tags. Its been a while and couldn't resist when I saw one here.

These are the rules:
1. Put your music player on Shuffle mode.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. Write the song name no matter what it is.
4. After you've answered all of the questions, tag 5 other people and let them know they've been tagged.

We got a problem Houston! I am at my workplace and shouldnt be doing this tag in the first place! Secondly, I don't have my entire music collection, just some 50 songs in system. I am gonna make a slight variation. Instead of my entire music collection, I will be answering from the songs appearing in my Last.fm library radio. Almost my entire collection is randomised in there.

Let's rock!

1. If someone says "Is this okay?", you say:

I know there is an answer by The Beach Boys.

Yeah, its 42. Need to find the question though!

2. What would best describe your personality?

Breathless by The Corrs

Its like a dream,
Although I am not asleep!

Pretty much me. Dazed and dreamy all the time! Psst. I am a zombie. Thus breathless.

3. What do you like in a guy/girl?

Vagabond by Wolfmother

Oh girl I don't know all the reasons why,
I found the answer lookin' in your eye,
I go out walking all day long,
Take away this lonely man soon he will be gone,

Cause I'll tell you everything about living free,
Yes I can see you girl can you see me,
You don't need to know what I do all day,
It's as much as I know watch it waste away.

Listen Girl? err Girls???

4. How do you feel today?

London Calling by The Clash

London calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared - and battle come down
London calling to the underworld
Come out of the cupboard, you boys and girls

I guess that means pretty much like shit. Funny thing. A cousin from London just pinged me a short while back after a long long time!

5. What is your life's purpose?

My Immortal by Evanescence

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

That does seem to be my purpose. Being consumed by others.

6. What do your friends think of you?

Yesterdays by Guns N Roses

Yesterday, there was so many things
I was never told
Now that I'm startin' to learn
I feel I'm growing old

Probably. I am supposed to be the store house of knowledge. They learn something from me every day! :-P

7. What do you think of your parents?

Iron Man by Black Sabbath

No lyrics. I am Iron Man. They are naught!

Has he lost his mind,
Can he see or is he blind?
Is he alive or dead?

8. What do you think about very often?

Happy Together by The Turtles

Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love and hold her tight
So happy together

If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be, so very fine
So happy together

*sigh* If only!

9. What is 2+2?

Silent Lucidity by Queensryche

Dont get close to me,
cause its sure to end in tears,
So just let me be.

Must be quite lonely without me. The above kinda attitude shiver me timbers!!!

12. What is your life story?

Low by Coldplay

You see the world in black and white
No colour or light
You think you'll never get it right
But you're wrong... you might

The sky could fall, could fall on me
They're passing on the seas
But you mean more, mean more to me
Than any colour I can see

That just makes my damned day!

13. What do you want to be when you grow up?

Ettam Pattu by Avial

Thira kaanathe theeram nadanne,

Light broke out of the dark skies.

Pretty much the same. Especially when you are really alone in a bloody crowd.

15. What do your parents think of you?

Slither by Velvet Revolver

Hey Hey Hey
When you look you see right through me
Cut the rope, fell to my knees
Fallen, broken every single time

Incognito ergo sum. Nothing to say!!!

16. What will you dance to at your wedding?

Song 2 by Blur

I got my head checked
By a jumbo jet

But nothing is

This is something I can dance! Just jump up and down!

17. What will they play at your funeral?

Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix

Purple haze all in my brain
Lately things just dont seem the same
Actin funny, but I dont know why
scuse me while I kiss the sky

Perfect song when I finally kiss the sky!

18. What is your hobby/interest?

Rip her to shreds by Blondie

She looks like she dont know better.
A case of partial extreme.
Dressed in a robert hall sweater.
Acting like a soap opera queen...

I specialise in ripping young ladies to shreds these days. Blondes get special preference.

19. What is your biggest secret?

Watching over me by Iced Earth

I had a friend many years ago
One tragic night he died
The saddest time of my life
For weeks and weeks i cried
Through the anger and through the tears
I've felt his spirit through the years
I'd swear, He's watching me
Guiding me through hard times

Damn! The secret is out now! Sabu* is going to kill me for this.

20. What do you think of your friends?

It is obvious by Syd Barrett

It is obvious
may I say, oh baby, that it is found on another plane?
Yes I can creep into cupboards, sleep in the hall
your stars - my stars, a simple cot bars
only an impulse - pie in the sky
mumble listen dolly
drift over your mind - holly
creep into bed when your head's on the ground
she held the torch on the porch,
she winked an eye

It is quite obvious from this that I think they are inept nincompoops.

21. What should you post this as?

Tequilla Sunrise by Eagles

It's another tequila sunrise
Starin' slowly 'cross the sky, said goodbye
He was just a hired hand
Workin' on the dreams he planned to try
The days go by

Goodie! I was out of titles for this one!

22. What do you think about this tag?

Steel Monkey by Jethro Tull

As the moon slips up, and the sun sets down,
I'm a highrise jockey, and I'm heaven-bound.
Do the workboot shuffle, loose brains from brawn.
I'm a monkey puzzle and the lid is on.

Doing this tag is good. It turns you into a super Steel Monkey!

Quizzes are done. So its time for a tag. Saw this tag floating around a few places like Praveen's blog. Thought I will do it. So here it is!

How to and what to :

1. You are given a set of questions.
2. Google the image which best suits the answer and post a picture from first page of image search with minimal explanation.

A few quiz men! (also for women! :P)

No WUI. This is something I promised myself. Still quite myself. Promises are promises. So just a small quiz! Its been a while since I posted some of these anyway!

You Communicate Vividly

You love language and communicating. You are the first to try a new word or saying.
You are a persuasive communicator and know how to influence people. You are inspiring and even poetic.
You tend to use analogies, stories, and interesting phrases. You know how to evoke the right emotions.
While you love to talk, you are also a good listener. You like conversations... not monologues!

You Are Warm

You are as patient, as outgoing, and as nice as you can be.
You understand people well, and you mostly enjoy being around them.
You are a naturally warm person, but you do have times when you're feeling a bit distant.
But even when you're feeling distant, you try to be empathetic. You always go the extra mile.

Your Energy Level is High

You are a very enthusiastic, productive person. You have no trouble getting anything done.
Beyond having a lot of energy, it's likely that your energy level tends to be quite steady.
Unlike people with very high energy, you don't tend to be impulsive.
By keeping your energy in check, you are able to use it as productively as possible.

Oh my! The third unlike what I have been doing lately!

Joggers Park

Okay! As I had PPSed in the last post, we have started jogging! 'We' means me and three other roomies. Another is being a bourgeois and mocking us. Man, see you after we develop 6 packs out of the one big sack! Cry your hear out then! We started on a Sunday morning. 7:30. Late? Not by the standards of folkses who wakes up at 11 on a Sunday! Moreover, I felt an urgent need to educate my friend regarding the nature of a typical Indian and intolerance that exists among our people the night before that. After my rhetoric was over it was nearly 3.

Anywho, we started towards the park. Walking. Some nasty dogs around our place. Didn't want to disturb their romantic antics. More on the dogs later. When we reached the park we found some construction going on there. Bad omen? We jogged towards another park. Pretty girl alert. We stopped. Panting like dogs. Not good. Started jogging away as fast as possible.

"How many rounds are we going to run?", asked JC. "Me thinking 10 rounds!", said Neo. (Long time readers would be familiar. Unfortunately for him, we are roomies now!) My hear sunk hearing that. I have been giving some really unwanted advice to everybody regarding exercise. The scientific methodology to be followed, details of the exercises done by the early man, the importance of sex in exercise to name a few. My facade was in danger of being obliterated.  My.. "We will see how much we can do", Niks remarked saving my ass. Love you man! I promise that you will get wings and a couple of gorgeous virgins in your afterlife!

We proceeded. Our eyes got hooked. Many gorgeous girls running for their lives! Poor innocent sheeps. Running with no shepherds. Open to the atrocities of this cruel world. Being the good samaritans we are, we decided to adopt them. We took a vow. We would be the protectors. The invisible benefactors! Who apparently cannot run more than 2 rounds. By the time we panted our way through the garden, the girls had gone home and probably had a bath. There is always tomorrow to play shepherd.

The next day we slept through. Monday blues. The next day we went. One 'sheep' was apparently sheared, making us wonder other she would be sheared more! Anyway we became more resolved to be the invisible benefactors. The day after that, which we can call as today, we didn't go. Protest against the cruel world who doesn't deserve to bear our footprints or breathe the same air as we do. In simple terms: we were late and Neo had to leave for office early. Niks and JC had come home at 4 in the morning. They were as coherent as cuckoo with cold. Since I have a natural scare for marked 'sheeps', naturally I could not go alone. There is always tomorrow to play shepherd if there are other shepherds!
I brought my PC from home last month and have been having a good time finally hearing some good music on my speakers. I run Ubuntu with no Windows installed. At the behest of my roomies and the greed to play games I finally installed Windows and things went crazy. Virus attack within hours forced me to do a reinstall! Cannot access Ubuntu since XP insists on overwriting the MBR. Tried all alternate methods. Finally had to download the Ubuntu CD. Now going to try my luck with it! Prayers people! Prayers! Thats what I want!

P.S: Check out new gadgets. Though it takes some time to load, it won't affect the load time of the main posts. There is a gadget from iLike where you can listen to snippets of the Top 10 songs I have been hearing this week in Last.fm. Another feature is you can add your own songs to the gadget if you log in to the blog using Google FriendConnect. An incentive for signing up! The other gadget is from Blip.fm, in which you can listened to the last 5 songs I blipped. So enjoy these while I prepare some hard hitting posts and a story for Valentines Day!

Update: Ubuntu is back. Windows is buried! Too tired to fix that. Me happily listening to Led Zep and going to sleep.

P.P.S: I forgot to mention that we started jogging. Gotta get up early!

Change you can believe in!

There will be blood folks! I am taking this blog to the next level by writing more and changing the setup a little more. For that I am taking a look at what is to be added and what not. The current shoutbox became a little too spammy. So here is the new shout gadget from Google along with Friend Connect. Join the network using your Google account. I guess everyone should have one as its sort of like passport now! You can also comment anonymously if you want to troll and make my life miserable! Yeah, I can be a masochist at times! Thoughts behind this change? I had a brainwave that I need to write more! Now that I have Internet at home (although the system is down with a viral infection!) and lot of experiences worth writing, it will be criminal not to. So here you go, this will be change you can believe in!
