Makki...

Yesterday went to Makki...a place near Ponmudi. Its not classified as a tourist spot, so there were no one else but us.
7 of us clambered on to Unni's Omni by afternoon and went there.
Anand had gone there a while back with his family. Even he had only the faintest idea. According to him, the area is a total forest. Oddly, there was'nt much of forestry. Lot of concrete houses till the last.
Some forest! Was the dude on dope? :P

Me and Sreenath were cramped on the rear seat of Omni (The two seats in the behind...)
Thampi got his new name as well...Stone Man...or rather Stone Cold! :P No...not going to elaborate...he would kill me!

In the classical way of going we went there by asking a dozen people on the way...Thankfully, all of them lead us to the right path...
We were asking for the Makki temple...people would think we going to do some crazy stuff if we asked the place where we could lounge in the water...
A nice excuse...but not valid in the afternoon time when Gods are usually put to sleep! :D

Anyway, the last two guys knew our intentions and told us the way to the waters...
After a very nasty ride through a kacha road, we reached the place...A walk of 200m through the forest took us to the place we wanted to go...the waters...
An artifical blockade is created here to make it a bath worthy waters...
Unfortunately, water level was pretty low when we came. It came to our necks in a sitting position...I was not very worried...No chance of drowning! Especially when you don't know how to swim and is a dead weight!

Started our procedure...stripped down to bare minimums and jumped to water...Played around a lot...Hafeez played Tarzan for a while with a hanging wine, until me and Anand tried our strength on it and needless to say we won! (err...the wine broke :P)

Some funny moments like Hafeez trying to swim on a kneep deep water, Hafeez trying to jump on Anand and falling flat on his nose in the water and me falling flat trying to climb down from a rock...
Got some sticks and some adivasi photos were taken...
Sreenath had brought two packets of Kurkure which finished in no time...All of us had skipped lunch and being in water makes one hungry...

Then we started building a dam using our bodies...disrupting water flow and delighted ourselves with controlling the flow of water.
Idea struck then...we build our own small check dam using rocks and water flow was modified...till the next rain that is...:D

It was agreed that next time, we come in the morning...with food and booze...party...sleep...go back in the evening...but next time? *sigh*
By the way, to get good food, you will have to go to Vithura...

As we left, me, Sree and Anand visited the Makki temple...More like a Kaavu...a small platform in which three dieties...Shiva (I think so...it looked remarkably like Buddha), Ganapathy and Naagar.

We stopped at Vithura and had tea. Saw our old college canteen Manager.
Reached home by 8...

Another trip...when?where?who all?
Only time will tell...

The photos...
Due to our Mascular appearance and Anand's pathetic body...I decided not to post any body showing photos...Might hurt his feelings! :P

You missed the forest by a whisker. It just starts from Makki only. Climb up around 12 KM to reach Bonaccord.
